Cosmetic problems with teeth can be treated in a variety of ways. If these problems cannot be corrected through orthodontics or bleaching, many cases can be considered for treatment with bonding, veneers, or crowns. These treatments can be used to correct gaps in teeth, fractures in enamel, anatomical problems with tooth formation, and extreme tooth staining. We believe that all cosmetics must be based in good function, and strive to plan each case in a way that will not only look great, but stand up to functional stresses the teeth endure over time.

Composite Bonding

In the past, silver amalgam fillings were the standard of care for restoring decayed back teeth. While very strong and long-lasting, they have no cosmetic benefit, require more tooth structure to be removed for placement, and many patients have concerns with the mercury content within this material. As materials have improved, advances in tooth-colored restorative materials have allowed us to repaired decayed teeth with tooth-colored composite materials that are color matched and bonded to the tooth as an alternative to silver amalgam. Advances in composite technology continue to improve the strength and longevity of these materials, allowing them to be the first choice for restoring decay throughout the mouth.
